The company’s main areas of focus are fund research, portfolio and risk advice, FinTech and implementation. The Nicosia office opened in 1998 and it provides back office and IT services to the regulated companies of the Albourne group; it currently has over 300 dynamic employees and we are looking to have more to join our teams across various functions.Role in BriefAlbourne maintains multiple websites for clients (investors) and alternative investment managers. These are complex tools to manage and analyse data on alternative investments, support portfolio construction, model risk, exposures and fees, and so forth. As web developer you will participate on the development, coding, production and testing of Albourne’s websites.Insights to the Role
- Research, design, develop and document new software systems and components in cooperation with business users
- Communicate with business users on the development needs for their business units
- Estimate the development effort (time) for requests and manage the delivery of tasks accepted
- Conduct testing and fault finding within the internal systems and suggest and implement improvements when issues are found
- Design and develop the internal systems to minimize the risk of data loss or security breach
- Manage the release and deployment of the internal systems (monthly) with full testing completed in advance of implementation of new release
- Cooperate with first line support to answer user queries and fix defects in the system, as well as estimating the effort to fix defects and implement new functionality
- Support the technical writer to produce user and operation documentation
- Pro-actively seek ways to improve efficiencies and the user experience
- Pro-actively seek ways to improve the maintainability and resilience of the internal systems
- Investigate new technologies and flag to Head of IT when applicable to the internal systems
- Ad hoc projects upon request by the Head of IT
Who You Are
- You should be fluent in spoken and written English.
- You like working in teams with other developers, business analysts, business users in an international environment.
- You should have a graduate degree or equivalent in Computer Science or similar
- You have a love of programming and solving complex problems
- You should have organizational and time management skills
- You should have the ability to malti-task and set priorities.
